It's Called Love...: Baby showers and the family Nativity

After much planning and thought, me and Amy decided to have her baby shower on Saturday the 15th - the last day my mom would be here visiting. We assumed that Amy would have the baby early (Everyone else in our family has) and even if she lasted all the way to her due date, she would be induced and be able to make it to the baby shower with her new little one in tow. All planned and perfect, except that things don't always go as planned.... Amy had an emergency C-section because her body wasn't progressing in labor and she has to stay in the hospital for a couple of extra days, which happened to overlap her baby shower.

Even though the guest of honor wasn't there we still had the shower and let everyone know who came where the new mom was and that they could go and visit her if they wanted to. Some stayed anyway and enjoyed the refreshments. Others dropped their present and ran when they found she wasn't there - I guess they didn't want to hang out with complete strangers :) Can't say I blame them.?

Here's what her shower looked like:

We had a hot chocolate bar with 3 kinds of cocoa: mint truffle, creamy hot chocolate, and cherry chocolate.

Once the baby shower ended and all the guests went home our family enjoyed a yummy lunch of pizza and salad, and we headed up to the hospital to do our annual Christmas Nativity with baby Grace playing the part of Baby Jesus

The hospital didn't like us all there - can't say I blame them. We had a lot of people on the floor with a whole bunch of newborns and it's RSV season.

Claire got some new fun things for Christmas from some close friends - she was excited!
