Winchester held its first "Salute to Our Troops" parade in Old Town Saturday afternoon.
"It's awesome. It shows that they appreciate that we served in the military," says Thaddius Williams, who was in the U.S. Navy. "They're showing they appreciate us by having this parade. It's a wonderful experience. This is the first one, I guess. It's a wonderful experience."
Williams wasn't the only one who enjoyed taking part in the parade.
"We have a lot of vets here in Winchester," says Albert F. Martin III, who was in the U.S. Marine Corps. "A lot of us served our country and served our country well. "
Both said they hope the parade becomes an annual event.
